Did you know the first pretzel got invented in Germany? The oldest evidence of pretzels (or Brezeln, how we call them) is found in a bakery's emblem from 1111 in the German city of Speyer.

Every year on April 26th we celebrate the national pretzel day.

In Germany, especially in Bavaria the pretzel is considered basic nutrition. We eat them all the time everywhere. For breakfast, for brunch, for lunch, for supper or just as a snack. You can eat them plain or dip them in butter. You can have a slice of salami with it or a piece of cheese. Or even a fancy one with grilled cheese or ham and cheese or cheese and jalapeno or pizza style...
